A. Information item: Briefings on LB 605, relating to construction and improvement projects at the University of Nebraska and Nebraska state colleges.

Postsecondary institutional operating and capital construction deficit
appropriation requests fiscal years 2005-06 and 2006-07.

1. The University of Nebraska is
requesting additional funding for 1) increased energy costs, and 2)
environmental clean-up at the Mead
Research Center
2. The Nebraska State College System is requesting
1) funding increases for utilities, and 2) planning funds through the design
development
phase for
a proposed educational center in South Sioux City.
3. The community colleges are requesting additional money to fully fund
Programs 151 and 152, the formulas that provide state funding for the
community colleges.
